"The
contacts I've made at Bureau events have helped me spread
the word about my tour. One event even resulted in a
radio interview. I
have also utilized the Online Convention Calendar to
reach meeting planners as they come to town. The Calendar
is a tremendous help, because it lets me know how and
where to advertise. Everyone
is so impressed when they discover that I'm a Bureau
member. Thanks for everything!"

"Bureau
educational seminars was wonderful. We learned about
potential prospects and we're excited about the opportunities
to help grow our business. In particular, we're looking
forward to participating in Familiarization (FAM) Tours
and other incoming group opportunities. San Francisco
is in good hands with the Bureau representing us. Thanks
again."

The
official opening of Are We Almost There?
was first announced to the world at a Bureau networking
event in June 2001, and since then, the SFCVB has been
an invaluable ally. Our two man-two women musical review
features songs and comedy sketches dealing with the
fun and frustration of travel. Unfortunately, the events
of 9/11 happened a week after the show opened. The ripple
effect forced the closure of many theatre companies,
and our show went on hiatus. But Are We Almost
There? reopened in February 2002 at the Shelton
Theatre and the show now runs open-ended, drawing enthusiastic
audiences Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. This
success story would not have been possible without the
excellent resources of Bureau membership. The use of
the Visitor Information Center at Hallidie Plaza, to
display our brochures, partnership with other Bureau
members and our listing on sfvisitor.org have all contributed
greatly to the shows continuing popularity.
We give the San Francisco Convention & Visitors
Bureau a big round of applause and a standing ovation.
