City: Nantucket, MA
Location: Ocean Beach
Comment: Go to Ocean Beach with that special someone on a crisp summer day, bring a blanket and sit high up in the sand dunes looking out over the deep blue of the Pacific, have a little picnic, sip some wine and just try not to fall in love. It can't be done.

City: Dawson City, YK
Location: Twin Peaks at dusk
Comment: The Twin Peaks area is SPECTACULAR, and is a great place to hang out and be in love. You can sit and watch that glorious city below you and feel like you're above absolutely everything. For a "real" romantic kiss you need the right state of mind-with no distractions from the stresses of life-just pure human connection. You can find that here. By the way, it's where I first kissed my husband.

City: San Francisco, CA
Location: Filbert Steps at Napier Lane
Comment: This is the most "San Francisco" place in San Francisco, the most romantic city in America!

City: Cambridge, MA
Location: Top of the Fairmont at Sunset
Comment: Being at the top of the Fairmont Hotel at sunset, looking out on one of the world's most beautiful cities, whether the fog is rolling in over the Golden Gate Bridge or it's perfectly clear, what could be more romantic?

City: Minneapolis, MN
Location: A.Sabella's Restaurant
Comment: A.Sabella's has a beautiful view of San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. Good food and wine-and what better way to end a romantic dinner at our favorite restaurant in San Francisco?

City: Sacramento, CA
Location: China Beach
Comment: My husband and I spent the day at China Beach and found it to be quite romantic. With a wonderful view of the ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge and a beach all to ourselves, we looked deeply into each others eyes and shared a wonderfully romantic kiss...and smiled.

City: Milwaukee, WI
Location: All of San Francisco
Comment: San Francisco is the most romantic place in the world, from the Sutro to the bay, there does not exist a place in the city that would not be a romantic place for a kiss, can you think of one?

City: Owings Mills, MD
Location: Coit Tower
Comment: Great view, romantic setting!

City: Modesto, CA
Location: The Cliff House
Comment: The Cliff House provides an ocean view, great food, great fun, and a sense of history of California and the many lives and loves that have begun in our state. It represents endurance, strength, provision, and beauty: all that love and romance should include!

City: Boulder, CO
Location: Sausalito
Comment: Walking around the Sausalito marina with its views to San Francisco, water, light. Very nice!

City: Seguin, TX
Location: Mission Dolores
Comment: Love is as old as time. Mission Dolores is the oldest building in a beautiful, timeless city. To stand in front of the peaceful serenity and simplicity of this mission is to stand close to the vision and dreams of past lovers of San Francisco. To kiss here is to connect with the past, feel the present, and touch the future.

City: Birmingham, AL
Location: Atop Twin Peaks
Comment: Looking out over the city, the crisp San Francisco night air blows through your hair and gets into your head-literally! You feel carefree as the breeze blows ALL inhibitions away into the night. The PERFECT spot for a long, romantic kiss that leads to a night of passion.

City: Citrus Heights, CA
Location: Coit Tower
Comment: I grew up in the Bay Area and spent a lot of time in the City. Coit Tower was built solely to beautify San Francisco, and it was the place to go on that special date for that romantic kiss. The view is spectacular!!!!! Great memories!!!!

City: San Francisco, CA
Location: San Francisco Art Institute
Comment: On a not so foggy eve, the view from the roof of the San Francisco Art Institute around dusk is so beautiful with the stars just coming out, and that added to the inescapable artistic energy you feel when you enter the school makes it a magical and romantic spot to sneak a smooch.

City: Tucson, AZ
Location: The Cliff House restaurant
Comment: AMAZING. Go on a foggy evening and ask for a window seat. The place has an old style charm...dark wood, candlelight...very, very romantic. Sitting at the window, hundreds of feet directly above the crashing surf, the mysterious fog trying to creep through the window. Maybe you'll even hear sea lions barking. But all the time you're warm and secure and eating some great, great food with someone you love. Ahhhhh!

City: Half Moon Bay, CA
Location: Marin Headlands overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge
Comment: Breathtaking view of the most beautiful city in the world!

City: Union City, CA
Location: Under the San Francisco bridge!
Comment: In a yacht under the bridge at night, all lit up-it is beautiful!!!

City: San Francisco, CA
Location: Stern Grove
Comment: This park is probably one of the best kept secrets of San Francisco. It is in the middle of the city, yet it is so tranquil and peaceful. Rarely do I ever encounter another person on my walks through the lush greens, beside the lake, or through the concert grounds and up the long set of stairs. This place offers beautiful environs, a water habitat, both level and hilly walks, and serenity in the midst of the city.

City: Bakersfield, CA
Location: Top of the Mark
Comment: At the Top of the Mark, overlooking the city, you're at the top of the world, all the lights twinkling, a sort of soft fog enveloping the city, the Golden Gate Bridge in the background, no one in the world but you and your special love, a perfect backdrop for a long, wonderful, lush, romantic kiss.

City: Springfield, VA
Location: By the lake at the Palace of Fine Arts
Comment: Sitting on one of the benches around the lake is so peaceful and romantic. This is where my wife and I had one of our first dates and talked about the future. For us it will always be magical.

City: Tacoma. WA
Location: Coit Tower
Comment: It is a romantic tower and a fun place to run to the top and kiss your lover!

City: San Leandro, CA
Location: Golden Gate Bridge at Sunset
Comment: Because you have on one side of you the most beautiful view of the most beautiful city in the world: San Francisco, the surrounding areas and Bay. On the other side of you the Pacific Ocean. At Sunset. One of the most beautiful views in the world.

City: Atlanta, GA
Location: Inside the Concrete Huts used for Gun Turrets, atop the Marin Headlands
Comment: Why? In addition to the breathtaking views, scanning the bay waters leaving San Francisco, westward of the Golden Gate Bridge, the bridge itself, the City, Baker Beach ... et.al., there's a great opportunity for being outside in the elements, and yet hidden just enough to "go beyond a kiss," should the passion take ya' there. Ahhhhhh!

City: Oak Park, IL
Location: Alamo Square
Comment: The contrast of beautiful Victorian homes against the backdrop of modern day skyscrapers reminds me that some things never change. We all appreciate and value antiques that represent a simpler time and way of life. Alamo Square represents family, art, beauty and love. No matter how fast and extreme the world changes, it can never numb our fascination and interest from historical monuments. I find Alamo Square a romantic place to kiss because it reminds me that like true love some things will never change.

City: Madison, WI
Location: Moscone Merry-Go-Round
Comment: A romantic kiss on a merry-go-round is the perfect analogy to grabbing the brass ring!

Comment: That was first date with my husband.

City: Los Angeles, CA
Location: Crissy Field
Comment: No further explanation necessary; everything is described perfectly on Riley's web page.

City: Los Gatos, CA
Location: Fort Point at the Presidio at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge
Comment: The crashing surf on the rocks below; the majesty of the Golden Gate Bridge above; a terrific view of the City by the Bay; and, the grandeur of San Francisco Bay are the backdrop for the stuff dreams are made of.

City: Birmingham, AL
Location: Palace of Fine Arts
Comment: It is a beautiful place and very romantic.

City: Albuquerque, NM
Location: Japanese Tea Garden
Comment: Nice, romantic location in Golden Gate Park. Beautiful Oriental tea garden. Went to San Francisco on our honeymoon in 1971 and spent part of the day in the park. Had tea and cookies in the tea garden.

City: Thunder Bay, AK
Location: Lombard Street
Comment: I am going to be visiting San Francisco in October, so I do not know exactly where the best place for a romantic kiss might be, but I think at the top of the one the crookest streets in San Francisco would be enough to get you in a bit of a spin (on your way down Lombard Street).

City: Ogden, IA
Location: Northwest side of Golden Gate Bridge overlooking the whole beautiful city of San Francisco.
Comment: On the way back from the wine country my boyfriend took me on a road where there was a little overlook. I could see the Golden Gate Bridge and lights of the city. It was beautiful. He gave me lots of romantic kisses and he told me that he had been dreaming of taking me here at night for a whole year. This was my first time to San Francisco and I had a wonderful time.

City: Baton Rouge, LA
Location: San Francisco Bay Bridge
Comment: It's just because.......

City: Vallejo, CA
Location: Band Platform (Editor's Note: Music Concourse), Golden Gate Park
Comment: With everyone watching, you can declare your love, with the whole world as a witness.

City: Reno, NV
Location: Under an Umbrella in a Rainy day
Comment: Its very romantic plus you get to be very close to the person next to you. Getting wet is very sensual and sexy. (Editor's note: The rainiest months in San Francisco are December, January and February).

City: Los Angeles, CA
Location: Top of the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco
Comment: The view of the city is spectacular. I recommend being there on the Fourth of July with the fireworks all around on the wharf and the symphony playing. Fabulous food, fine champagne and a kiss from my beloved. What could be better?

City: Lakeland, Florida
Location: Golden Gate Bridge
Comment: How do I choose just one place? My husband and I kissed all over the city! Hmmm...the fort under the Golden Gate Bridge was probably the most memorable. We walked up the old winding stone staircase...the damp, chilly air filled our lungs. We were out of breath by the time we stepped outside to find one of the most awesome views imaginable! The sea mist hit our faces...the birds soared above our heads...the rushing waves crashed below us...the view of the beautiful red bridge was almost within our reach. And we were swept off our feet...an escape from reality. It was just like a picture out of a romantic movie. The kiss that lasted just a moment was burned into our memories forever!

City: Kula, HI
Location: Twin Peaks
Comment: Find a spot (anywhere is gorgeous) on Twin Peaks and savor the view, take a deep breath, plant a small kiss anywhere-eyelid, neck, etc., give a nice, tight hug and go for a long, sensuous, hot kiss. Don't say a word ... just use your eyes and your killer smile before the big kiss. A contented sigh afterwards will do too!

City: Canyon Country, CA
Location: Fisherman's Wharf
Comment: It's so romantic day and night. I was with my honey watching the seal swim around off of Fisherman's Wharf. Very romantic.

City: San Bernardino, CA
Location: On the Golden Gate Bridge
Comment: I think that just standing there on the bridge with the man of my dreams, holding him close with the rush of traffic going by and feeling safe in his arms would be definitely the most romantic scene ever!

City: Kent, WA
Location: Transamerica Tower
Comment: "I Left My Heart in San Francisco" many moons ago when I spent my honeymoon there. The most romantic place to me then and yet today is still the Transamerica building. Its design and name clearly bring to mind the strength of America and all that I love. What could be more romantic than sharing a kiss at the top of this wonderful monument overlooking the timeless beauty of San Francisco?

City: Cambridge, MA
Location: An Unexpected Long Kiss on a Crowded Cable Car
Comment: Pressing against each other on the crowded cable car and holding on, the excitement of having a lot of people watching, the uncontrollable movement of the cable car,...that added to an unexpected slow long passionate kiss … it doesn't get much better.

City: Santee,CA
Location: Palace of Fine Arts
Comment: With swans, gardens and fairy tale arch ways, being wrapped in the arms you love, with tender kisses making your heart melt with the sunset.

City: Bethlehem, PA
Location: Telegraph Hill
Comment: It is so romantic overlooking all of San Francisco standing there on top of the whole city. You can just fall in love with the city and the person you are with. Really any place in San Francisco is a romantic place; it is a place to fall in love.

City: Spring Valley, NY
Location: Crossing Golden Gate Bridge, on the way to Sausalito!!!
Comment: In the '60s I lived in the Bay Area and out of all the places I've been, I remember heading over to eat in Sausalito, It was foggy on the bridge and we pulled over the first chance we got and got out of the car and saw the most beautiful sight of sky, bridge and San Francisco, all under a bright, foggy day! I proposed and she accepted!

City: San Marcos, CA
Location: Fort Point at the Presidio, Base of the Golden Gate Bridge
Comment: I actually have never been to San Francisco, but always wanted to. I have books on this beautiful place, and I would say that the Golden Gate Bridge would be the most romantic place to receive a kiss in San Francisco.

City: Irvine, CA
Location: Cable Car
Comment: Nothing says romance and San Francisco like the cable cars.

City: San Diego, CA
Location: Cruise Boat in the Harbor
Comment: A two-hour cruise in the San Francisco harbor under the moonlight, Wow, there's nothing else like it.

City: Glen Burnie, MD
Location: Telegraph Hill
Comment: A quiet sunset, the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance, and dinner at Julius' Castle should set the mood for a stroll around Coit Tower, and a place somewhere in between to grab that romantic kiss. Clear weather is a big factor, but that shouldn't diminish your special moment.

City: Southaven, MS
Location: Palace Hotel
Comment: Such a quaint, historic place. How many romantic kisses have been shared there in an unnoticed nook? I would like to add another one to the list.

City: Eugene, OR
Location: On a Ferry Boat going under the Golden Gate
Comment: My husband and I fell in love with the city of San Francisco six years ago. We have chosen to come to San Francisco every year that we get a chance. We both have hectic careers and enjoy every minute that we get to spend in San Francisco. We are now in the process of scheduling another trip, seeing what we have missed, what we want to see again. The city is to us the most romantic on the West Coast!

City: Kailua, HI
Location: Grant Avenue, Entering Chinatown
Comment: When Grant Avenue (the first street ever built in San Francisco) was named, it was named to represent the phrase "being called to the beginning"- Calle De La Fundacion. As you enter Chinatown on Grant, this is where you share a romantic kiss. And may each romantic kiss signify the beginning of a successful union, just as Grant has proven for this beautiful Golden Gate City.

City: St. Louis, MO
Location: Any Cable Car Will Do
Comment: I'm from St. Louis and grew up watching "Meet Me in St. Louis," humming along to "Clang Clang Clang Went The Trolley." Cable cars have long been gone from the streets of St. Louis, so my husband and I are traveling to San Francisco for our first anniversary so we can smooch on a cable car.
